Nirmal Kaur, wife of the legendary athlete Milkha Singh, died at the age of 85 after fighting COVID-19 for weeks on Sunday.
Kaur, who is a former captain of India’s volleyball team, tested positive for the virus last month and was admitted at Mohali’s Fortis Hospital.

As per a statement by her family, she passed away at 4 pm on Sunday.
She is survived by her husband, one son and three daughters.
